Detroit's Eddie Senay filled two albums with guitar funk, more choppy than fuzzy, but definitely blaxploitation-like at times, reminding us somewhat of Grant Green. Hot Thang and Step by Step were both released on Sussex in 1972. The debut contains a beautiful version of Bill Wither’s Ain’t No Sunshine, also released as a 45 flipside to Hot Thang. From the second album, Safari/Sarko East was released on 45. The Spanish Vampisoul label released both albums as a single package in 2006 on cd (the vinyl version containing less songs).
